A bit ago I talked about my trip to Vancouver, which included a must-see stop in Dressew. Want to see inside Dressew (if you don’t live in Vancouver?)

Fun fur part one...

If you are a costumer, you will love Dressew – how could you not love a huge wall full of fun-fur?

Even more fun fur!

Yep, even MORE fun fur… there’s racks and racks of it in multiple colours, lengths, and styles. There are even a few ‘high end’ furs, that look really ‘real’, rather than the fantasy fun fur that is predominant.  I couldn’t get far back enough to get a photo of all of the fun fur they have in stock.  Ah.. I would love to make myself a long, full-length faux fur coat… but for now I’ll just stick with my 3/4 length!

Ruffle knits

These are ruffled knits – while I can see these in skirts or tops, what I really think they’re meant for is rumba / ruffled panties! I was so tempted to get the black and red stripe, and the black on black narrow ruffle – but I didn’t.  Of course, later on, in a trip up to Edmonton, I couldn’t help but think of this fabric, and ended up getting some at Marshall’s Fabrics instead (wayyyy less selection, and I don’t think the price was as good either!)

Multiple colours of ruffle knits

Oh… but if black and white/red doesn’t suit your fancy… how about multiple colours of ruffled knits instead?  These are more bolts of the ruffled knits – blacks, blues, teal, green, yellow, lime, purples, reds, pinks… solid on solid, stripes, white on colour and colour trimmed with black… and yes, even a blue and green leopard print.  Crazy!

shelves of silk fabrics

I think I spent twenty minutes alone going through the rolls of silks – so poorly displayed, but so beautiful! While there’s lots of dupioni here (which I can find with ease here at home) they also have silk gingham, plaids, stripes, painted florals, embroidered, sheer/solid stripes…. in a range of bright and dark colours.  I kept lusting after a black with fine white pinstripe silk… but just couldn’t figure out what I would DO with it.  Instead I picked up some tan and wine striped silk – the same silk I picked up last time I was here!

There is so much fabric here – this shot is from the upstairs near the front of the store – please excuse the lousy photo quality, all of these were taken with my new camera phone, that I’m not entirely used to using yet!
