Viking costume inspiration: Drinking horns

Visually, I really LIKE the idea of a horn, but it seems invariably impractical for an event – or really for anything other than a photo shoot.

Lots of photos show re-creationists hanging them from their belts, though when drinking they’d be carried, and couldn’t be set down when full.  I have seen a few people have made stands for them though!

I’ve seen a few horns online for sale, but they seem a bit pricy, and I can’t say I’d be keen on drinking from one anyways, so I think I’ll likely skip this as part of my costume unless I find one for a really good price (even if it’s not useable for drinking…)
