Throwback Thursday : hand-painted ornaments

I’m calling this a Throwback Thursday because I made them quite some time ago, but as they were given out this year as gifts, I couldn’t share photos until now!

I made both round globes along with heart-shaped glass ornaments, and used a variety of swirling pretty colours to paint the inside of the glass – this means the paint won’t chip off when the ornaments are stored. (They do break easily though, so they’re not for households where fragile ornaments are a bad idea. (Kids, cats, etc) )

For the heart-shaped ornaments, I thought that some “lock and key” charms I had in my jewelry stash would be fun.

To add the charms, you have to take off the cap carefully, and then string a chain with a jump ring in the middle onto one of the arms of the cap, then carefully put the cap back onto the ornament.
