Shoe makeover

Heel of the embellished shoe

While up in Edmonton in March I popped into a shoe store, and of course found a super-cute pair of shoes… but a bit too expensive. A bunch of other shoes were on sale, and I asked the clerk just in case…. and they were on sale too! Sold!

Of course, as cute as they were, I thought they were still begging for a bit of an upgrade…

Using a leather needle (it has a wedge-shaped tip instead of just a point) and a few pairs of needle nose pliers, I applied some chain with spikes on it to the heels, and did a pair of studded shoe cuffs (leather plus elastic) to dress them up a bit. Both embellishments are removable, so if I need to bring them back down to a more conservative shoe I still can.

Fantastique! They were ordinary until you put your touch on them.
