On July 22, 2017, the SCA group in Calgary took part in “Warhorse” at the Military Museums.
“Horses have been a key part of the Military from ancient times to the modern day. We have some participants bringing horses to show off the medieval horse in various eras.”
Participants from as far as Edmonton came with their horses to show off skills relevant in the middle ages, while other groups came with their horses as well for various demonstrations. The event coordinator for our group asked for people to come with cameras to take photos and video, so I attended for a few hours to do just that. I posted most of the photos through our website and Facebook group, but I kept a few here to share with my readers.
If you would like to see more photos from this event, visit the Barony of Montengarde here.
Or, you can visit our Facebook group here. Note, this is a closed group and you must be a member to see photos. Likewise, on Thursday I’ll be adding even more photos to my own Facebook page, so you can see even more if you’re interested. You can find my Facebook page here – please consider following me!

I know how hard it is to come back and check blogs all the time – but if you’re interested in getting updated posts from me, consider following me on Facebook too. I’m trying hard to post new content on Facebook daily – all the things that are neat that don’t really fit on my blog, like video shares, articles, my Instagram feed… etc. PLUS I post every time I load a new blog post so you can come and read if you’re interested.
This is also my entry for the CoBloWriMo for today – August 22’s prompt is “Event”, so it’s a perfect time to share this one! If you want to see all the posts for CoBloWriMo, click the tag!
