I’m calling this a Throwback Thursday because this is actually a corset I made a while ago (so I don’t have any work-in-progress photos either). I made this to sell, back when I was hoping to get commissions for custom work (I’m not looking to do custom work anymore).
A bit about this corset:
This is a lightweight modern Victorian design corset with a sheer blue fabric over pink cotton. The blue fabric has black flocking and silver glitter. The pink fabric shows through the blue sheer fabric, creating a colour-changing or shot effect. (This is most visible in the photos taken with flash.)
This is an early design of mine, and it has a less dramatic shape than my other corsets.
This corset has a front hook and eye closure, and back lacing with eyelets instead of grommets. Instead of steel, this corset uses German plastic boning; this corset is not suitable for tight lacing, but rather a lovely lingerie-style corset perfect for bedroom wear.
This corset has two layers of fabric treated as single-layer construction. There are exposed inner boning channels, and no waist stay.
This corset has a velvet ribbon trim at the top edge and a ribbon trim on the lower edge.
This corset is new, never worn apart from trying it on.
Waist approximately 42″ fully closed
Centre front length: 15.5″
This corset comes from a smoke-free home. None of my corsets (unless otherwise noted) have modesty panels or garter hooks.
