The Calgary Grandmother’s Fabric & Yarn Sale started yesterday and runs today – but the Edmonton sale is only a one-day sale.. and today is the day!
I’ve never had the chance to visit the Edmonton sale, (and won’t get the chance today either because I have a few other things to do) but if it follows the same price structure and variety as the Calgary, Red Deer, and Lethbridge charity sales I’ve been to – it should be a must-visit if you are in YEG!
If you are a crafter, sewer, costumer, knitter, crochet or craft… these are great sales to stock up on unusual and standard items. There’s usually a lot of polyester, acrylic yarns, and loads of quilting cottons, but if you click the Grandmother’s Fabric Sale tag you’ll see some of my shopping scores from previous years.
I think I’ve been attending these sales for over 5 years… so a LOT of my fabric stash is goodies I’ve found at these sales… (and somewhat fewer garments I’ve made are from there too…)
I’ve found silks, wools, velvets, brocades, upholstery fabrics, knits, and loads more…
Today’s sale (April 21, 2018) is the Fabulous Fabric Frenzy! held at Strathearn United Church, 8510-95 Avenue. It runs 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. More info on their website.
