You’ve already seen in previous posts that I’m selling off some of my fabric stash – well today I’m posting some Naalbound items I have for sale as well

If you want to see everything all at once, you can check the shop on my Facebook Page. If you’re interested in anything, leave me a comment here with your email address (it’s a hidden field and won’t be published) or drop me a line through my Facebook page.

Please note, if you’re in Calgary, Alberta, we can arrange for an in-person meet. If you’re in Canada, postage is fairly reasonable. However if you’re outside of Canada, Canadian international postage is quite a bit more than American postage. I’m willing to quote a price, but be forewarned!

Heather grey naalbound cap with ribbed front

Back of the ribbed-front naalbound hat

Back of the ribbed-front naalbound hat

This is a handmade heather-grey nålbound cap (touque/toque/beanie) made with Oslo stitch.  The lower edge at the front has a reverse stitch creating a ribbed effect. This also works to raise the front edge of the cap up, so it’s higher in the front than the back.

Nålbinding creates a thick, warm material with limited stretch – it is not stretchy the way a knit cap would be. In wool, it’s quite water-resistant making this cap ideal for cold weather and snow. One of my nålbound hats is my go-to winter wear to stay toasty warm at SCA reenactment events or as a day-to-day winter toque. This hat has been washed and blocked. This hat should be gently hand-washed with pH neutral soap, laid flat to dry out of direct sunlight for the greatest longevity.

Hat edge circumference is 54cm (21″) measured on the outside of the hat. It would best fit someone with a 56cm (22″) head or smaller. The hat is 20cm (7.8″) from front to top, and 22cm (8.6″) from top to back.

Worn for photos only

85% wool, 15% mohair blend, commercially spun yarn.

Asking:  $45.00
