One of the gowns I loved from the Dior exhibit at the Glenbow Museum was the Rose France evening gown from the Fall/Winter 1947 Corolle line. It’s made of silk satin.
The shaping of the bodice drape is lucious – though the hip gathers don’t do much for me…
I found the strange pleat or seam at the hem very odd – was this original? Did the owner put it in? It seems like a very odd place to hem the dress, and very odd to have just one pleat if it was a design feature.
The gown was one of many in a room dedicated to gowns.
The back of the gown was particularly intriguing to me – those large buttons, and the contrasting skirt…
