Chocolate-mint DIY lip balm
While making the beard balm and beard oil lately, I figured I’d make up a few tubes of lip balm while I was at it.. (since the bases use many of the same ingredients).
I bought a dozen lip balm containers from a local supplier (I’ve heard they’re seriously overpriced though, so I’m not going to link them here… if I want to do this again and it’s NOT on a whim or tight deadline, I’ll likely order them online or find a more affordable supplier) so I didn’t want to make a LOT… just enough to fill up the containers I had.
Beard balm with vanilla and cinnamon leaf oil
While out shopping with a friend, he started checking out some beard balm and beard oil. He didn’t pick any up, but when his birthday rolled around, I bought him something, and wanted to make him some beard balm to gift him as well.
I started out with three recipes, each with different ratios – I figured I’d try a few different things and see what he liked in terms of scent and texture/moisture/etc.
Three oil blend beard oil

Looking up recipes online had a LOT of suggestions. Some suggested single carrier oils mixed with single essential oils, some had single carrier oils with a blend of essential oils, and others had blended carrier oils with single or blended essential oils.
March Ipsy Glam Bag
On March 29, my March Ipsy Glam Bag FINALLY arrived…
Normally it comes around the 15th -17th, so I was a bit irritated that it was so long – too late in fact to enter any of the Instagram giveaway contests too. 😦 boo.
(Or maybe hurrah for any of you who have been getting sick of me filling my Instagram with make up and selfies!)
So… here’s what I got in my Glam Bag:
Super-short post today about my February Glam Bag from Ipsy, so I can get back to other posts in my queue.
My Ipsy Glam Bag this month contained:
Baby Blush Stick in Bora Bora Coral
- I am really loving tre’StiQue’s products through Ipsy, and hope that they continue to send me their sticks through my glam bags.
- The colour is perhaps a bit more orange than I’d normally purchase, but it actually works on me I think.
- The colour blends really nicely with fingertips (I didn’t bother trying one of my blending brushes) and has a nice matte-finish despite being a stick.
- I don’t know if the colour LASTED very long though – it blended a bit too well perhaps, and wasn’t super-dramatic.
