Throwback Thursday: Black and white floral cincher

Plus size black and white floral brocade cincher for sale

Black and white floral brocade cincher

I’m calling this a Throwback Thursday because this is actually a corset I made a while ago (so I don’t have any work-in-progress photos either). I made this to sell, back when I was hoping to get commissions for custom work (I’m not looking to do custom work anymore).

A bit about this corset:

This is a shaped underbust plus-size cincher made from black and white floral brocade. This corset is made with three-layer construction, but has no waist stay.

A bit about this corset:

The outer fabric of this underbust corset is a red snakeskin PVC. The top edge is trimmed with a leopard-print grosgrain ribbon, while the lower edge is trimmed with black poly-cotton bias tape.

This is an overbust modern Victorian corset, but an early design of mine, with a less dramatic shape than many of my other corsets.

A bit about this corset:

This is a mostly white silk underbust corset. The majority of the fashion fabric is white dupioni silk, and there are two front panels which are white silk with an overlay of cream sheer silk, embroidered with a random swirling pattern in off-white and silver.

A bit about this corset:

This is an underbust corset made of Raspberry Duchess Satin. It’s not quite pink enough to be pink, not quite red enough to be a real red.. so… Raspberry! Duchess Satin is the same material frequently used for wedding dresses and bridesmaid’s dresses – it’s a thick fabric with a low-luster, but very elegant.

Throwback Thursday: Ghosts & PVC corset

Exposed PVC bone casings

Exposed PVC bone casings

I’m calling this a Throwback Thursday because this is actually a corset I made a while ago (so I don’t have any work-in-progress photos either). I made this to sell, back when I was hoping to get commissions for custom work (I’m not looking to do custom work anymore).

A bit about this corset:

The outer fabric of this underbust corset is black cotton with white ghosts. The straight seams (not the curved hip seams) have exposed double-bone casings made of medium-weight PVC. The centre back has a black poly-cotton piped finish and the top and bottom is also bound in black poly-cotton binding. The lining is black cotton, and there is an internal waist stay. I don’t recall what the interlining is, but likely more black cotton.
