Bat & spiderweb wooden necklaces

A few different wooden shapes (bats and spiderweb) turned into necklaces

A few different wooden shapes (bats and spiderweb) turned into necklaces

When I made my Gothic Cathedral Pillar, I had all of the little bats cut out of the sides leftover.. and wanted to do something with them. I also dropped some of the spiderweb graphics (from my spiderweb shelf) into a laser cut project (to fill up some of those spare little spaces) in various very tiny sizes.

They scream “earrings” to me… but uh.. I don’t wear earrings – so instead the first round of projects had to be necklaces/pendants instead!

As an aside… I have a bunch left, so if any of my friends DO want earrings (maybe for a holiday gift?) let me know!

Gothic skull supported shelf

The completed laser cut gothic shelf with skull brackets

Back in July I posted my laser cut gothic shelf cover / decoration, and mentioned how I had made a mistake on my first attempt at the cover, and wound up with (not one, but two!) a shelf cover that was way, way, way too small for the shelf. I set it aside (well, both) and re-measured and re-made the shelf cover (read about it here) and pondered what to do with the too-small version.

The original was inspired by the Gothic Revival Mantle Shelf from Life After Death Designs, though I made mine using the laser cutter rather than what looks like a router from their design. Theirs is also a free hanging shelf, and my shelf cover – well… isn’t.

But… I came up with a solution for my too-small “shelf cover” – and instead it IS a free-hanging shelf. Well.. sort of.

Unfortunately, the Life After Death one is currently sold out, but if you love it – follow them on Instagram to see when it’s restocked!

Mirror tiled box

Assembling my materials and tools for a mirror tiled box

Super quick post today – for a little project I mostly put together while watching TV in bed the other day.

I started off with a very sturdy box I’ve had for ages. Originally I used it to hold safety pins in my sewing room, but then I started using a different container, and it’s sort of just lingered in my box-full-of-smaller-boxes.

(I’m not the only one who has a container full of other empty containers, right?)

Black Mesh Bat-adorned bralette

A black mesh bralette with black HTV bats

A black mesh bralette with black HTV bats

Like most likely every other goth lingerie-loving person out there, I am pretty obsessed with Vide Noir lingerie. However, like a lot of folks… I don’t fit into their size range (including their custom range…).  Additionally, they’re constantly sold out (obviously.. the stuff is gorgeous!) and at over $200 for a cupless (not supportive) halter bralette, I also just can’t justify the cost.

However… the obsession, following them constantly on Instagram, and access to the Maker space’s Cameo Silhouette cutter, and a sale on heat transfer vinyl at Michaels…. and I decided to give a try to making something inspired by Vide Noir for my own.
