Making Miniatures – clover stand

After making a few different little things for my friend and her doll display, as well as a few items like the wooden medieval-inspired lantern for myself, I kind of wanted to continue… and had some interestingly shaped leftover wooden pieces to work with.

I had a large tri-lobed clover shape from the top of the lantern, as well as six smaller clovers from the sides of the lantern. I also had a number of small bars from my Hedeby-inspired Viking Age style bag hangers, so as a relatively unplanned project I assembled them all together using wood glue to make a cute little stand, suitable for tiny shoes like pictured here, or other miniature items.

I also had some small round circles of wood (the strap handles from the bag hangers) and used them as little feet for the stand. I decided not to paint or stain the stand, but instead will give it to my friend for her to finish it to her liking, depending on where she decides to use it.

I’ve shown the finished piece here with some of my friend’s tiny doll shoes.
